The very 1st Presidents Match. What was at stake, the G’zunda Trophy!
As you can imagine, tension was rife within all the Fenns at the thought of winning a trophy that looks ever so slightly like a commode. Whatever the prize, it was definately going to be hotly contested, probably more to do with the weather than any real competitiveness.
A special mention has to go to Wiggy, who has never played cricket before. One may have expected someone that had never batted before to disgrace themselves, not Wiggy. Not only did he manage to reach the magic 25 and retire, he came back again at the end to push his total to an impressive 32 Not Out, the highest individual tally of the day!

The Honourable Secretarys Report.
This was the 1st Presidents Match for the G’zunda Trophy held at Princethorpe College.
The teams were
John Abdujaporov’s Team versus Tim Abujaporov’s Team.
The searing heat, a contrast of styles, a wasp, a surfeit of hot cross buns and a mysterious anal injury were just some of the ingredients that went into this exciting game. It was one with runs aplenty, some excellent tight bowling and good fielding. In the end Tim’s team were the deserving winners by 143 runs to 110 of Johns.
Suggested characters of the match:-
John Abdujaporov, for starting to think about the tea interval after only the third over had been bowled!
Colin “Sat Nav” Bradley, for courageously battling on despite suffering from Alpe D’Huez anal discomfort!
A sincere thanks to all whose efforts made this a very special and happy day.
Pete.
My personal favourite suggestion for ‘character of the match’ would have to be Tom. After batting for about 30 minutes then saying, “Mmmm, black shorts and a black t-shirt aren’t a good choice for today are they?”
